Welcome to all of our parents, carers and pupils to Year 3. We are missing you all terribly in these very strange times.
Currently, our Year 3 teaching team consists of Mrs Iqbal, Mrs Shaw and Mrs Sattar.
Our learning support assistants are Mrs Wilford and Mrs Devi. Our 1:1 support is shared by Mrs Morris Huhes and Ms Ibrar.
Organising the home learning for Year 3 are Mrs Shaw and Mrs Sattar. Each week, we will be uploading Maths and English lessons to recap learning your child will have already had experience of in school. This will help consolidate their learning and give them the opportunity to practise their skills.
In the IPC challenges tab, activities will be added regularly. Here you will find activities linked to science, Geography, History and other non-core subjects. Please also follow the school on Twitter and Facebook, where you will find messages from the staff and various challenges.
Our title for our topic this term is 'Active Planet'.
During this unit we will be focusing on Geography and Science
In Geography, we’ll be finding out:
• About how the Earth is formed
• What a volcano island is and where they are in the world
• What causes an earthquake
• How earthquakes can be measured
In science, the children would have been investigating a range of rocks and sorting them according to their properties. This is something that would obviously prove difficult to teach at home and we will bear this in mind, once the children are back at school.
Please stay safe and look after yourself and your families. Best wishes
Mrs Shaw & Mrs Sattar
