We use data to accurately track pupil progress. Your child will be set challenging targets. Teachers attend pupil progress meetings to report current attainment for their class to the Senior Leadership Team. If your child is not on track, specialist provision will be put in place to help them catch up.
We share examples of good practice during staff training/ meetings and subject specific meetings. Moderation of pupils’ work takes place on a regular basis. Sharing information enables colleagues to work together to overcome learning barriers.
For children working below their Year group they will be assessed within the Year group that fits their ability. Teaching will then focus on bridging the gaps.
For those children who are well below the expected standards for their year group, they will be assessed using the EYFS 'Development Matters' document. Those who are behind but whose needs are not as severe, will be tracked using assessment grids for the Year group that meets their developmental stage. This allows us to track SEN children.
For Year 2 and 6 SEN children's levels are reported to the Local Authority as a Pre Key Stage Standard. Information for each Key Stage can be found on the links below:
