Award Ceremony

July 2018

The Nursery took part in the Bradford Libraries Nursery Rhyme Challenge earlier in the year. This involved the children working with their families to learn five quite challenging Nursery Rhymes. We then had a special event where the children dressed up as Nursery Rhyme characters and families were invited to come and watch the children recite the Nursery Rhymes.  This event was covered in the Telegraph and Argus at the time. We were delighted to discover St Matthews Nursery had been nominated for the Best Practice Childcare Setting Award .The award ceremony took place in July at City Hall in the presence of the Lord Mayor. The Nursery was represented by Azaan and Anela who were accompanied by their Mums. The children enjoyed meeting the Lord Mayor and being in City Hall. Azaan was delighted to receive a prize for attending the library. We had some stiff competition from 13  other settings and  although we did not win the award it was an honour to have been nominated. Azaan and Anela behaved beautifully through a long ceremony and were an absolute credit to their families. We were so proud of them
